Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Lee County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to address the communication and maintain necessary records. It is kept within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically

Lee County Criminal History does not build, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the Lee County Sheriff, local courts, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and the South Carolina Sex Offender Registry Tool. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a dossier about another person.

Independent companies supply the search tools shown on some pages. Data placed into a tool is governed by that company's privacy terms. The partner, not this site, decides its retention and disclosure practices. Read those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Lee County offices, South Carolina agencies, court portals, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
